了解最科学测量的巨大代价。哈雷科考站仅有4个科学家，剩下20多人可以说都是服务人员。光是一个哈雷科考站就花了几千万英镑！因为冰下裂缝要搬家，又多运来好几十人，拆开拖走组装，以为一切可以照旧的时候发现裂缝的情况变得复杂难以应对，全部人员都要撤走。在大自然的绝对力量下人类必须认怂。
